SGI OPEN - DELHI
THE EVENT
The SGI Open Delhi promises to be landmark event on the amateur golfing calendar in the Indian capital, promising to give all amateur golfers a chance to feel a real “Open” professional level tournament. The event is the exclusive India qualifier for the annual World Amateur Golfers Championship to be played in Phuket in summer of 2025.
The SGI Open – Delhi is open to all amateur golfers with a valid handicap index from a recognised golf club which maintains handicaps according to the WHS system.
An entry fee of Rs 9000 per person is payable at the time of registration.
The maximum handicap accepted is 24 for men and ladies.
Players should have reached their 18th birthday on the date of the tournament.
Players ranked in the top 20 of the Indian Golf Union Merit List in any category in the past 10 years are not accepted.
Acceptance of any entry is at the sole discretion of the Organising Committee.

- Each player plays on only one day - Friday- Saturday, 22nd or 23rd November (18 holes) on either day
- Afternoon shotgun start at 12.30 pm followed immediately by Awards Cocktails and Dinner with Live Entertainment at Jaypee Greens.

Registration Closed
The format of the event is individual strokeplay with 3 over par as the maximum score counted on any hole.
Players may choose to play the 18 hole tournament on either one day - November 22nd OR 23rd (Friday OR Saturday).
- A maximum of 108 players will play on each day.
- Players shall compete individually in 5 handicap categories as per their declared handicaps.
- The five handicap categories (as per the rules of the World Amateur Golfers Championship) are 0-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, 21-24:
- One overall winner will be declared in each handicap category over both days.
- The Double Peoria handicap adjustment system will be used based on 12 hidden holes. Different hidden holes will be picked each day.
- An App will be used for Live Scoring for all players.
The overall winners will be those with the lowest individual net score in each handicap category among all players who have played on both days.
The overall winners will make up the 5 member Indian team to go to the World Amateur Golfers Championship 2025 in Phuket (or other similar international venue).
The trip to the World Golfers will include 5 night stay, 5 rounds of golf, Gala Opening Ceremony Dinner, Closing Ceremony and Awards Dinner, local transfers, breakfasts and lunches each day at the course. Around 500 golfers from 40 countries participate each year at the WAGC World Final.

Since a rocking awards party will follow each day of the event, participants are encouraged to block their evenings and if possible, check in to Jaypee Greens Golf Resort for the night after their round on either Nov 22 or 23rd. The World Final of the World Amateur Golfers Championship (WAGC) is where amateur golfers from around the world compete to represent their Countries.
Here's what makes the World Final special:
- Global Participation: Golfers from over 40 countries participate.
- Competition: Players compete in five handicap divisions 0-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20 & 21-25.
- Prestigious Venues: The 18 hole tournament will be played at each of these four courses Laguna Phuket Golf Course, Red Mountain Golf Course, Blue Canyon Lakes and Blue Canyon.
- Format & Rules: The World Amateur Golfers Championship, World Final is played over 72 holes, stroke play with handicap adjustments after each round, giving a fair and equal opportunity both in the team championship and individually within each handicap.
